Writing the first post for a brand new blog feels a little bit like going on a first date. A little awkward, a little uncertain, yet full of hope. Wearing red lipstick in order to make a good first impression and then wondering if it looks like you’re trying too hard. Trying to communicate that you really are nice and normal and have something valuable to contribute. Just wait, you’ll see. Hi! Did you have any trouble finding the place? Sorry about the stain on my shirt. I have no idea where that came from. Jeez. Should we order drinks?
Anyway, if you’re reading this post anywhere near its publish date, you’re very likely a close friend or family member and hopefully already like me. Thanks, guys. Anyone else who has stumbled this way, well, pull up a chair. This is a fun group.
Soon, I’ll have a nice, ever-growing collection of recipes – ones I’ve adapted and ones I’ve developed myself. Expect them to be eclectic and based on the whims of my appetite, because that’s pretty much how I cook. I may feature soup in the middle of summer, or frozen cocktails in January (let’s just acknowledge that cocktails have no season). I’ll also probably talk about the weather, because that’s what we do in Colorado. But I’ll work hard to keep it interesting, promise. And useful.
