Hi guys – just stopping in to let you know posts will be a little slow for the next few weeks. I’m going to Italy, see, to get married. Yes, married! To this guy:
He’s pretty cute, right?
I think so. He’s also pretty brilliant, and kind, and funny. Plus, he’s my chief taster and editor extraordinaire here on the blog. I’m a lucky gal.
I’ve gotta brush up on my Italian, people. The only phrase I can remember is “tutti a tavola a mangiare” (everyone to the table to eat) which is what Lidia Bastianich used to say at the end of every episode of her PBS cooking show. And of course there’s vino rosso, and vino bianco, and passare la pasta … well, actually, maybe I’ll be ok.
After we get hitched, we’re planning to travel and eat our way through the land of pasta, wine, and gelato (oh my!) for a few weeks, so it’ll be quiet around here on the blog. I’m not disappearing, though. For real-time updates on what I’m seeing, tasting, and doing, follow Butter & Air on Instagram and Facebook.
I can’t be held responsible for what I post after drinking the house wine, though. I hear it’s pretty great no matter where you go.
Are there any recipes you want me to check out while I’m there? Leave a comment below – I’ll still get ’em while I’m gone. I’m taking a cooking class in Florence from one of the best at La Cucina del Garga, and I can put in requests.
Arrivederci for now!
Laura
Could not be happier for you. Congratulations to both! The trip sounds amazing! Hope to gain from what you learn. I feel we don’t do sauces well here. So any ‘not in a jar’ way to amp up pasta would be great. Risotto of course, Arancini, Osso Bucco, biscotti, oh lord, I’m hungry! Mangia Bene!

Thank you, Laura! I’m back with LOTS to share …
